I was at Universal CityWalk Hollywood and came across this VooDoo Doughnuts at Mothers Day! During busy days VooDoo usually has preset grab n go boxes ready for sale so people don’t wait in long lines inside the store. Once you go inside the store there are so many unique flavored doughnuts that you just want to try all. As far as my review goes, I will start with the classic preset box first:

Classic Half Dozen Box special

This VooDoo Classic Box sure takes you to you back in time during the classic days. I feel very lucky to get this 3 eye monster doughnut because on the pictures it has 2 eyes, just looks yummy. This Half Dozen Classic Box comes with this doughnuts:

Little Pink – Raised ring dipped in strawberry flavored frosting and a smattering of round sprinkles.
Voodoo Doll – Raised yeast doughnut filled with raspberry jelly topped with chocolate frosting and a pretzel stake.
Double Chocolate – Chocolate cake doughnut with chocolate frosting.
Maple Bar – Raised yeast doughnut with maple frosting on top.
Sprinkle Cake – Plain cake doughnut with vanilla frosting and sprinkles.
Raised Glazed – Raised yeast doughnut with glaze.

My favorite of this preset box is the double chocolate, just has the craving chocolate taste. The VooDoo Doll or as I would like to call it the monster has jelly inside and is very sweet, but looks very pleasing to eat. Doll sure doesn’t look like a classic doughnut, but the taste and jelly inside give the classic side of the taste. Very Good!

Halloween Horror Nights Half Dozen VooDoo Doughnut Box – 2021

So, as you exit Halloween Horror Nights from Universal Studios Hollywood you come across this doughnuts at CityWalk. This Halloween Preset half dozen box is right in front of the Dodgers Store and its spooky.

So there are 6 doughnuts in here:

VooDoo Doll – Raspberry Jelly inside
Double Chocolate – nothing but chocolate
Sprinkle Cake – vanilla frosting with sprinkles
Little Pink – strawberry frosting with sprinkle dots
Raised Glazed – raised from the death
Maple Bar – maple frosting

The first 3 give me the Halloween vibe, but the last 3 don’t really. Well maybe the Raised Glazed may just make me think like someone is raised back from the dead, but It needs some designs on it. Spider Web, Bats, or RIP signs on the doughnuts would be more interesting for Halloween, rather than just looking classic.

They are all good in taste especially the Double Chocolate, but as this are Halloween Edition Box, I think it needs more Halloween Energy. You can get this at CityWalk during Halloween Horror Nights, try it out!

Come to think of it this Halloween Box is exactly the same as the classic preset box. Except the VooDoo Doll is more Halloween edition.

2022 HHN Half Dozen Preset Box

2022 HHN VOODOO Half Dozen Box

This are the 2022 edition of the preset ready to go boxes. This time they were sold right in front of Billabong and 2 new donuts for this year.

Compared to last year 4 of the donuts are the same, the two added are:

Boo-Berry Cake – Blueberry cake doughnut with glaze.
Grape Ape – Raised ring with vanilla frosting, grape dust, and purple sprinkles.

The VOODOO Doll is updated with spider webs and same delicious doughnut. However, the 2 new ones are just out of this world. The Grape Ape felt like a piece of Witch magic right off of the brew. The Boo-Berry almost felt like a blueberry muffin, very nicely done for this year.

Special Napkin

What makes this year special is that the napkin you are seeing in the photo belonged to Jennifer Lopez. As I was at the park on 10/29/22 so was Jennifer Lopez with Ben Affleck and kids. She was standing in front of the Scarecrow maze, and she dropped the napkin on the floor. It just fell out of her without her really throwing it away. I picked up the napkin as a souvenir and it has her fingerprints on it and possibly bugars. Haha! what a lovely day it was, and the Scarecrow maze is just amazing.
