The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much. It is whether we provide enough for those who have little.
– Franklin D. Roosevelt

(My Thoughts:)

Talking about those who have little, I really think the Government should have a building in each city with affordable rent. What I mean by this is that every city should have a high rise building where it is minimal living. Meaning that it has like 150 square feet of space along with minimal bathroom and kitchen just to get by the day. The price should be enough that a person with minimum wage could afford without getting out of the way. A good example would be $400 a month for 150 square feet of living space with small bathroom, shower and minimal kitchen.

Why Doesn’t This Exist Now?

This is the question that everyone is probably thinking, and it should start existing. Sure, there probably isn’t much room to have but it is better than being homeless. It’s what I like to call one step better than homelessness. Also, the streets would be cleaned from homeless and sure there are many shelters, but they have rules. What I mean by rules is that you have to be there at certain times and there is no privacy. This makes people to want to continue to be homeless instead of living in shelters. Sad, but it is the reality.

Why Test?

On the other hand, I was thinking why are we testing our progress, isn’t there enough trust to trust? Franklin D. Roosevelt was the 32nd President of The United States of America and during those times everything was just different. Nothing was alike as it is now during this era. There was nothing similar and even the houses and living conditions was different. Whatever he said, sure probably made sense during those times.
