Comparing this Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle with the Original 1995 Jumanji I was extremely disappointed and upset. Why you ask? This is why:

  1. The graphics where not realistic. The original one, the rhinos, the trees, the plants, the whole animal sets had more natural look. But, on this Jumanji I didn’t feel the realistic. And the tone and graphics were more richly, and more convincingly made in the original one.
  2. The acting. I’m sorry Dwayne Johnson I know you created this movie, you put your time and effort to deliver your best. But it’s as if I could feel you guys trying to act in this film. Whereas in the original one It had a natural flow in the acting and I didn’t feel anything. Which this is the key point. In exception, Jack Black had the best acting and the most natural flow in the film. But by playing a gay dude I felt like he lowered his manhood to play in this film with Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan. This brings to down to number 3.
  3. Jack Black being gay. This is a movie for kids, what in the hell do you guys have a gay dude in the movie for? Couldn’t you guys make the movie family oriented? What are you guys trying to push on, for kids wanting to be Gay? 2 Thumbs Down!
  4. What got my attention about this movie other than of course this is Jumanji is the cover of the movie poster. And guess what? The cover of the movie, the scene is not even in the movie. And to be honest, the cover seems like it would have been the best scene in the whole movie.
  5. Board game to video game, People falling from the sky and having 3 lives doesn’t sound like a modern game to me. They had this style of games from back in the early 1990’s. So, I didn’t feel like the theme of the movie the game part was any more modern than a Board Game.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I was honesty unsatisfied with this film since the original was a perfect masterpiece, a 10 / 10 film. The Plot, the settings, the beginning, the middle, the end, the actors, the animals, the whole movie was made with perfection and passion. And I couldn’t even find a defect even if I wanted to in the original one. The background music, the scenes, once you watch the movie its as if you are in the move. But I can’t say the same for this Jumanji.

However, I’m only ranking this movie low because I’m comparing it with the original one and I’m expecting so much more. Simply, if I wasn’t comparing, just judging this Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle as its own. I would say this was a one-time movie for me and I wouldn’t watch it again unless I was changing the channels and theirs nothing else to watch.

Anyway, let me talk a little positive. Truly loved the scene when everyone’s fighting and Dwayne Jonson walks outside and Karen Gillan is kicking ass and he walks back inside because she’s got this. I really loved that scene.

I think this film would have been done way better if Dwayne Johnson and his 7 Bucks Production team weren’t part of it. Rather, company like Universal Studios made the movie and paid him just to act and have nothing to do with the creation and the story line. I believe the movie as a whole would be so much more enjoyable.

I’m giving this movie 2/10 just because I want to give some credit for the effort put inside. Other than that, I would give this movie a good 0/10. Just looking at the rhinos running in the original one and comparing it with this one, the original looked more stunning.
