As soon as I came across this at Trader Joe's I just had to pick it up. I was in the mood for some Red Bull Spring Edition and new this would just go great with it.

  • French style pastries with a custardy interior.

On the back of the box it says, "A Trader Joe's Cannelé is a French-inspired pastry which originated in Bordeaux in southwestern France. A chewy, caramelized exterior surrounds a creamy, rich, custardy vanilla and lightly rum flavored interior that is truly indescribable. Warm your Cannelé in the oven to best enjoy this unique treat and elevate any moment of your day from breakfast to afternoon tea to dinner dessert. A Cannelé sweetens any hour!"

Great Taste

Well, this one here is crunchy on the outside but soft and flaky in the inside. Fresh smell when you warm it up that is sweet and kind of has a syrupy tone of smell to it along with syrupy taste too. Well, there is rum in the ingredients but not really getting any rum taste. However, there seems to be this aged taste that perhaps could be from rum. The custard filling in the middle is soft and vanilla flavor to it. Very enjoyable and great pastry for anytime of the day. But it is a bit too sweet which goes great with something a bit bitter. Well, this one here is a 5 Star Cannelé and I recommend giving it a try. It is new at Trader joe's which the price is $5.49 and comes in a box with 4 inside.
