“In the afterglow
of an evening rain

I lay down
in the grass
and think of you

my body aches
like an after-kiss

breaking in soft fires
and wildflowers

my dear,
I will always be
this tender for you.”
– Sanober Khan, A Thousand Flamingos

My Thoughts:

What does an after-kiss really feel like. Well, of course it is supposed to be the feeling of love. As I’m updating this on 4/13/2023, it is raining right now outside. Reading this by Sanober Khan feels so alive as it is raining right now.

A Thousand Flamingos

If you are wondering what A Thousand Flamingos is, it is a book by Sanober Khan. It’s a book of poetry and I highly suggest getting a copy of it. You can check it out on Amazon. As you would have guessed, there is a lot of Flamingos on the cover of the book. Currently the price is $2.99 for the Kindle edition and $15.00 for the paperback edition. I would suggest getting the paperback as you can read it like a real book.

Zoo

This book reminds me of the time I used to work at the zoo, and I was right next to the Flamingos. I was selling Kettle Corn which was the best popcorn available. I used to eat them and look at the Flamingos which made it fun and interesting. The animals are just very special, and this was at L.A. Zoo. Currently, I think it’s not called Kettle Corn anymore as they have more options of popcorn available. During the time I worked there, it was only one type of popcorn which was Kettle. Also, they were there during the weekends and holidays.

Sometimes, I wish I could go back in time and just to check out the animals during the times I worked there. However, the ticket prices are pretty cheap, and the yearly plans are affordable. A lot of walking, but that is great too.
