“I am persuaded that the world has been tricked into adopting some false and most pernicious notions about consistency –
and to such a degree that the average man has turned the rights and wrongs of things entirely around and is proud to be “consistent,” unchanging, immovable, fossilized, where it should be his humiliation.” – Mark Twain

My Thoughts:

I almost feel like I’m eating a cake with thousands of colors and just don’t know where this is going. Something is telling me that Mark Twain wants to see changes and we are doing exactly the opposite. People are so used to living in the same way and they get used to a pattern. Once they are in the comfort zone they just don’t want to change from there on. Most likely, there is a big population of people who are just stuck at the comfort zone.

Get Out

I think Mark Twain is trying to say get out of the comfort zone and explore life. That we can’t change anything if we are not willing to move forward. Sometimes, you just have to make changes to move on with life. Even though some changes may be challenging, but it is healthy to you. You are not here on earth to do one task or nothing. You are here on earth to move on to make changes and to do something. Getting stuck in the comfort zone may just not be bringing any changes to you. Therefore, get out of your comfort zone and don’t be afraid to move on.

Move Forward

Moreover, it is not just the comfort zone, but everything else too. I normally have a habit of repeating what I do on daily basis. Even when I go hiking trails, I keep going to the same one. Which is now I’m going to change the trail I hike. Even minor differences like this can make a difference. I think that life is not based on anything, except for knowledge. The more knowledge we gain, the more we move forward. You can now try to break the habit for good.
