“Creativity has more to do with the elimination of the inessential than with inventing something new.” – Helmut Jahn

(My Thoughts:)

Sure, this is true but creativity to me is like a work of art. This is kind of mind twisting quote and seems a bit confusing. I think Helmut Jahn is referring to creativity getting rid of what’s nonimportant. This said, there is more to creativity than we may just wonder or have thought that we know. Well, for now it is important to understand that it is more creative with basicness than of inventing something new. Well, it just depends on how you look at it. Of course, everyone has different thoughts about it or feelings when it comes to this quote.

What is Inessential?

Before making any judgements, it is best to understand what inessential really means. Well, according to the dictionary it means not absolutely necessary. This said, you can now have a better understanding of this quote by Helmut Jahn.

Something New

I’m kind of what I like to say simple guy and I don’t like anything new. Sure, I get happy with new food but other than that I don’t like anything new. I like to keep things simple and clean. Every time I see a new invention I don’t know if I should be happy or sad. For example, when a new phone comes out this only means you need to spend more money to get the new phone. If it only didn’t come out, then you would have continued with the phone you already had. Sometimes inventions just get annoying and it’s sad that it is nothing but business.

The only thing I want to see that is new is probably a flying car. I mean one that is small and compact and trustful. That would be fun and interesting. What do you guys think?
