“The ultimate court of appeal is observation and experiment… not authority.” – Thomas Huxley

My Thoughts:

I feel like I’m in a science class doing an experiment. I’m not sure what it is, but observation is just taking mental notes of what you are looking for. However, this mental notes usually ends up being forgotten and it is better just to have notes and a pen with you. Experiment is obviously necessary, but if you are smart and observe something creative, you might just get away with it. Authority is just annoying, but we need to deal with it.

Confusing

This entire quote is just pretty confusing and mind annoying. Knowing this quote or not, it almost feels like it is pointless and waste of time even reading it. However, to many people this can be very educational and have something with a purpose. That is what I love about quotes, everyone just takes it differently and it’s almost like a poem of its own.

Ticket

If you ever get a traffic ticket, always appeal it as the cop may just not show up. This happened to me when I got a ticket for not stopping at a stop sign with a bicycle. I went to court and the cop never showed up and the judge mentioned that he had retired. How lucky was I. Always fight your ticket because there is a chance that you might just win. However, even if you don’t win, you observe the court and earn knowledge just how it works. You may even learn how to get away with something that someone else got away with it as well.

You can even go to court for fun and sit down and watch. I have a friend who does this, and it is very educational. Best of all, it is free, and you can just walk in for fun. You can learn a lot by watching other people’s cases.
