“Courage is the power to let go of the familiar.” – Raymond Lindquist

My Thoughts:

This almost sounds like the definition of what courage means. But what does courage really mean? Well, the answer is simple, it means to do something that is frightening to one. Meaning, doing a task that could be challenging. In other words, it takes courage to do what you fear. For example, let’s say you are afraid to walk through a pack of crowds, in doing so it takes courage.

Comfort Zone

This quote by Raymond Lindquist makes complete sense. Doing something of courage, you are getting out of your comfort zone. Getting out of the comfort zone is by far the most important thing you can do in life. If you pay attention, everyone is doing things that they are comforted by it. For example, someone that goes to work and takes the same route every day because it’s his daily routine. Or someone that goes walking to grocery store and keeps going the same way because he/she is used to it. These types of behaviors are part of the comfort zone.

Doing stuff in the comfort zone is not the correct way to go through life. It is a way to being comforted by it and this is not really safe or unsafe every if it feels comforted. Instead, do things extraordinary and out of the comfort zone is realistically the way to go in life. Getting out of the comfort zone only helps to overcome problems that you can face later in life. This is why, try to do new things in life and don’t be afraid to do it.

Be courageous in life and step out of your comfort zone. Become an example that you want to leave behind for others to do.
