“Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. And the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant in whom you delight, behold, he is coming, says the Lord of hosts.” – Malachi 3:1

My Thoughts:

What is grabbing my attention here is that he says, “I send my messenger.” Back thousand years ago they didn’t have the communication we have now. There was no internet, no social media and there was no sort of mail delivery service. Messengers were the ones that traveled just to deliver a message, where now we can just text or call. These messengers lived a very important life and they had rules of themselves that they needed to follow.

If you would like to know a little better understanding of Messengers, just watch the film 300. The film by Gerald Butler as he plays the King Leonidas character in the film. There is one scene which he kicks the Messenger down to his death because the messenger didn’t respect King Leonidas’s Queen. This is how important role the messengers had and a very risky job. I think being a messenger in those times was pretty fun as all you did is travel. But this travel could risk your life if you didn’t follow messenger rules or if you went out of line. Point is that we have come a long way in life, and we may have a long way to go.

Watch war type of movies and some have messenger scenes in them. I think the film Troy played by Bradd Pitt also has messengers, but I kind of forgot. Just to mention that there are older versions of this films too, so check those out. they may not have the best graphics as they have after the years 2000’s, but they sure are great.
